Secrets!!

If there's one thing that angers me in video games, it's secret items/characters/story lines etc. that absolutely CAN NOT be figured out without the help of some outside source such as a wiki or guidebook. (Ahem.. Radiant Dawn ;P)

I'm about 1/3 of the way through book one of Golden Sun, and I've just found out that I've skipped 2 Djinn on the world map who are hiding in random clumps of trees. How the heck would I have known to look in those places if not for the Golden Sun Wiki? That map is huge! and those clumps of trees are like, 2 by 2 squares big! That's like.. 4 squares out of thousands on that map!!! I'm really expected to find a Djinni with those odds?

I guess it all adds to the adventure of the game (or the replay value.. if you're the skeptic type). Kinda like the pointless flag search in Assassin's Creed. I mean, who REALLY wants to go looking for all of those? Is it really worth it in the end?

It's Time For...

Random bad guy spotlight!!!

Today i'm going to talk about one of my most beloved bad guys of all time. He's a mysterious figure, an enigma shrouded in mystery. That villain is The Black Knight of Fire Emblem's Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn!

A fearless, godlike foe, the Black Knight defines invincible. Poor Zihark didn't stand a chance T-T
Unbeatable to every unit in the game... Except Ike of course!

So why exactly IS the Black Knight, Rider of Daein, unbeatable? See that heavy, black armor that his whole body is encased in? Its literally impenetrable. Blessed by Ashera, the Goddess of Order, only weapons that are also blessed "...can so much as scratch it." as quoted by the Black Knight himself.

Although the reveal of his identity in Radiant Dawn was an utter disappointment for me, along with his main reason for murdering Commander Greil, the Black Knight remains one of my favorite villains in all of gaming. Heck, a freaking castle fell on him and he survived. That takes some badassery.

Have a great day!

Rekka no Ken

What's Rekka no Ken? Why it's none other than Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword!

Although it was the first Fire Emblem game to hit American shelves in 2003, I just recently picked it up and and started to play. I'll have to admit, I was a little frightened that I might be wasting my time with such an old Gameboy Advanced Fire Emblem game, especially since The Sacred Stones (2005) was sorta kinda a bore to me. However, this prequel to Fuin no Tsurugi (Sword of Seals) (Japan only) has a pretty intriguing story line so far, as well as engaging characters — things we all LOVE to see in our gaming.

The 3 main characters of Blazing Sword. Hector, Lyndis, and the red-headed guy is Roy's father, Eliwood. See the family resemblance? haha

Now I'm only about 16 chapters in, and 30+ chapters make this game already longer than both The Sacred Stones and Path of Radiance, but thank God it's not longer than that monster Radiant Dawn (40+ yikes!).

To the skies!

First (real) post!

Okay. Gonna post then I need sleep! First real post so here goes!

When we hit our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change.

The wise words of Aang, and while this scene was the biggest deus ex machina in the series, The Legend of Korra still finished strong. The whole "good guys lose and come back strong" really gets my blood boiling! Thrilling bending fight scenes and intriguing plot twists make The Legend of Korra one of my favorite cartoons of all time. Of course, i'm not sure that it will ever take The Last Airbender's place in my heart, but I am definitely looking forward to the new season next year! :)
WHAT HAPPENED TO ZUKO'S MOM???

A new attempt

Why hello there! My (real) name is Sal. I'm a simple guy. I like to read, write, sing, play video games, run, imagine, and dream.

I've found myself creating a  blogspot of my own because, well, lets face it: Facebook is  lame. HAHA not to say that the users are lame, but I've held accounts on everything from Myspace to Twitter and none of these social networks are enjoyable to be on. Sure it's nice to see what's going on in the world, but sometimes I just want to talk about me and my interests, share them with anyone who would care to know or listen, and maybe even talk to others about common interests. I've tried forums, but those people who I share interests with are WAAAAAY too into those interests. So into them that I find myself thinking, "Maybe i'm not as into this as I thought I was..".

So here it is. My next attempt at a safe haven for me to think, share, and talk, without the "likes" and "followers".
To the skies! Fly! The Adventure is about to begin!
